--print-legacy-format Print in hexadecimal format. This is mostly useful for debugging and to verify that Brainflayer is not reading in any invalid addresses. This is a legacy output format that should not be used in production.
-m OUTPUT_FILE Load the ecmult table from OUTPUT_FILE (generated with ecmtabgen ) rather than computing it on startup. This will allow multiple brainflayer processes to share the same table in memory, and signifigantly reduce startup time when using a large table.
I was considering just reimplementing the attack, but I thought it might be fun to know how the attack gets around ecmtabgen's restrictions, and I wanted to share it (plus it's pretty cool that BrainFlayer exists in the first place).
The author of brainflayer says, “Passwords are guesstimated in 6 seconds (my implementation is based on the xtorrent DHT protocol)”. This means that every 6 seconds it’s guesstimating password guesses.
After you have generated brainflayer.db and ecmhead has generated the ZSK, you can run brainflayer -z file to generate a random ZSK that you use for the brainflayer input. The ZSK must be saved in file for later use. The ZSK can be generated as many times as you want but it must be saved.
-k PATH Specify the location of the brainflayer tool. If not specified on the command-line, then a copy of brainflayer is searched for in PATH. If it is found then we'll use that tool, otherwise we'll use the ecmult tool.
